What is the purpose of the Level 5 qualification?

Up skill delegates to be able to improve the overall delivery of the PE curriculum within a primary school.

What will the Level 5 allow delegates to do?

Delegates will be PE specialists - they will be able to assist in raising the standards of primary school PE teaching and learning.

What is the purpose of the Level 6 qualification?

Up skill primary generalist teachers to be able to lead the overall delivery of the primary school PE curriculum.

What will the Level 6 allow delegates to do?

Delegates will be able to take on PE subject leadership – they will be able to deliver and lead sustainable high quality primary school PE teaching and learning.

Do delegates have to do the Level 5 before I can do the Level 6?

Yes, the Level 5 qualification is a pre-requisite for the Level 6 qualification.

How is the qualification structured?

The course is broken down into six units.

Units 1 to 5 make up the Level 5 Certificate in Primary School Physical Education Specialism.

Unit 6 is for the Level 6 Award in Primary School Physical Education Subject Leadership.

The course delivery is different to the qualification structure. The course is designed to be delivered over eight days – the Tutor Resource shows how the eight days can be structured to meet all Assessment Criteria.
